What I can gather of Terry Gilliam's attempts to make this film and the cast for the main roles (Grisoni/Don Quixote):

1998-2000: Johnny Depp / Jean Rochefort (d. 2017)
2005: Johnny Depp / Gérard Depardieu
2008: Johnny Depp / Michael Palin
2009-2010: Ewan McGregor / Robert Duvall
2014-2015: Jack O'Connell / John Hurt (d. 2017)
2016: Adam Driver / Michael Palin
2017-2018: Adam Driver / Jonathan Pryce

Michael Haneke says that every film rapes the viewer but Żuławski's Possession is on another level of mindfuck.

Everything is upside down by 18' and the fun doesn't even start there.

I mean cool but why

It's disney, the answer to why disney does anything is never not "oodles of money".

what a cynical thought, what a small world you live in that the key to magic is not spending millions upon millionos of dollars to make a movie which already exists

Ok, Into the Spiderverse was amazing. Really creative use of animation as a film medium, was blown away.

Terry Gilliam has wanted to make this film since the year I was born and first started production in 1998 and, well.... just read the production section on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_Who_Killed_Don_Quixote#Production

select theatres in canada not including the shitty village of kingston, jamaica, canada

I watched Haneke's Der siebente Kontinent, which was pretty good at evoking feelings about unfeeling modern bourgeois existence
